SPIRAL WOUND GASKET STYLE- 930 Description :  STYLE – 930 is for applications with High temperature variations (thermal cycling) and/or pressure variations and/or flange rotation problem etc. Spiral wound gasket s have been designed to meet these demanding requirements. Spiral wound gaskets are made of a preformed metallic strip and a soft filler material (PTFE or Graphite), wound together under pressure, and optionally with an inner and /or outer guide ring. The metal strip holds the filler, resulting in excellent mechanical resistance, compression resilient and recovery. Adaptable production : Our production offers extensive possibilities : Special sizes Production as per customer requirement Download Datasheet Material Properties: Filler Material max. temperature °C(°F) PTFE 260(500°F) Graphite 450(842°F) upto 650°C(1,200°F) with steam and under inert conditions. Material for Metal strip SS304, SS316, SS316L,SS321 Material for Inner ring SS304, SS316, SS4316L, SS321 Mate...

What are Gaskets and Types of Gaskets?

Gaskets are used as a sealant to fill irregularities or gaps between two or more surfaces. Gasket manufacturers offer different types of gaskets such as   PTFE envelope gasket , kammprofile gasket and so on. Due to the safety issues concerning usage of asbestos in gaskets, reputed manufacturers offer gaskets made using non-asbestos gasket sheets. Being a major component for diverse industrial applications, gaskets have to be chosen carefully. If you are someone from the food processing industry looking for a gasket, then  silicone gasket manufacturer  who specialise in food grade silicone gaskets might be able to help you. But a different type of gasket would be needed in a petrochemical plant. Gaskets are mostly chosen based on the properties such as chemical resistance, temperature resistance, pressure resistance, compression etc. Every standard gasket comes with its own set of properties. However, gasket properties can be enhanced with a combination of various m...

The Key Features of Rubber Gaskets

Elastomers are used for creating various sealants. While there are different gasket types, the ones made using rubber gasket sheet have specific features designed for specific industrial applications. In this blog, we go through the various features of rubber gaskets in detail. Firstly, gaskets made of rubber are available in various standard models, designed using materials to deliver the performance desired from the product. The different types of rubber gaskets available in the market are nitrile gaskets, EPDM gaskets, silicone gaskets, neoprene gaskets, and more. Some of the major properties of rubber gaskets include: Chemical Resistance You can use rubber gaskets in certain chemical plants as these gaskets can be ideal for usage with acids and alkalis. Rubber gaskets are widely used in drainage pipes as sealants for carrying different kinds of fluids. If the quality of the sealant isn’t good enough the seal may break and there will be leakage issues in pipelines. Some rubber...

What Are the Features and Applications of PTFE Envelope Gasket?

Image
A composed gasket with an envelope of PTFE that has an inlay is called a  PTFE envelope gasket . The application of the PTFE envelope gasket varies according to the inlay material inserted into it. Still, the main applications are for enamel flanges, plastic pipes, rubber or steel flanges. For enamel flange connections, PTFE envelope gaskets with graphite insert or fiber insert work well.  PTFE envelope gaskets  have the advantage of the materials used in them.  Properties of PTFE Envelope Gasket It resists corrosion which is also called media resistance. It ages and brittles very slowly as compared to other gaskets. The surface pressure of this gasket is very low which enhances its pressure resistance. Its adaptability is very good as it can be molded or customized according to your needs. It can be handled very easily during dismantling, transportation, and assembly. It resists product contamination. It has properties like elastic recovery and adjust...

Corrugated Metal Gaskets

Image
The IDT-corrugated metal   gaskets   consist of a corrugated stainless steel carrier with a height of s = 1.5 mm and a graphite layer of 0.8 mm on both sides. Carrier profile, thickness and density of the layer are adjusted in such a way that a peak overlap of 0.1 to 0.2 mm is ensured in tensioned condition at standard compression and therefore only a very low diffusion cross-section is present. Furthermore, the non-metallic material is very highly compressed in these areas. A partition of 3 to 4 mm, a sheet thickness of 0.5 and a non-metallic layer thickness of 0.8 mm has proven to be the ideal design and is used as a standard by established plant operators. The IDT-corrugated ring is manufactured across all nominal widths with a partition of 3 mm. If the corrugated ring is partitioned too much, then it loses in strength and has the effect that the proper function could not be achieved or could not be achieved fully and that that the mechanical characteristics and leak...

What Are The Uses Of PTFE Gasket?

Image
For running industrial operations, there are many components that play an important role. PTFE Gaskets are one of those widely-used components across industries. PTFE or Polytetrafluoroethylene that is commonly known as TEFLON is used as a gasketing material by PTFE gasket manufacturers because of its physical and chemical properties. Modified PTFE gasket sheets are used as sealants for specific purposes too. Why is PTFE preferred for industrial applications? PTFE can be identified as a synthetic fluoropolymer that ensures low-friction and provides high corrosion resistance. Other key features of PTFE include high melting temperature, high resilience, and high surface wear. All these features make PTFE gasket sheets suitable for various applications. While there are standard gaskets available for common applications, PTFE gasket manufacturers such as Sealmax can engineer these non-metallic gaskets with other materials to enhance the performance of the gasket for specific requirem...
