PTFE Gaskets: Industrial Solution Which Will Not Pose Any Threat to The Future
PTFE gaskets have been used in several industries for quite a long time because of the desirable properties of PTFE such as heat resistance, chemical inactivity and low coefficient of friction. However, despite the good physical and chemical properties including PTFE gasket’s superior resistance to degradation, the properties of PTFE gasket make it difficult to recycle and dispose. As most industries today move towards the circular economy, there is increasing adoption of circularity of PTFE gaskets by developing better recycling methods and cooperation. Recent Developments in PTFE Recycling: This chapter is a contribution to the understanding of the evolution towards a circular economy, as an indispensable guideline to promote sustainable development. Recycling activities for PTFE gaskets have also improved in the recent past, and more technologies and methods are being developed with the aim of reducing on the wastage of these materials. Some of the most notable
